I often wonder why birds fly... -Why can't I?
Pågående form, något är - var - eller kommer att vara pågående vid en viss tidpunkt (vid ett visst tillfälle) motsvarande det vanligt förekommande svenska uttrycket "håller på att" eller "höll på att".
OBS! Då du/man/någon eller jag använder engelskans pågåendeform så måste det finnas med en variant av hjälpverbet 'be' t ex am, are, is eller was! Utan detta kan du inte skapa en pågåendeform i engelskan. OBS!

Jane's father was lighting his pipe when suddenly his morning paper caught fire and in a few minutes their whole house was on fire.
I remember it clearly now. I was driving along Interstate 94, going west, passing through Fargo, North Dakota, when a thunder storm came sweeping away trees and several lightweight trailers actually tipped over and ended up on the side of the road.
