- "Green Onions'" original title was "Onions."
Someone stuck "green" in front on the label.
- The "MG" stood for "Memphis Group."
- Cropper wrote Wilson Picket 's "In the Midnight Hour," as
well as "Soul Man," "Knock On Wood" and
"(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay"
- "Green Onions" came out of a jam session with Cropper and
Don Dunn.
- Booker T. Jones went to high school with Maurice White of Earth, Wind
& Fire.
- After the band split, Cropper sat in and recorded with Rod Stewart, Sammy
Hagar and Art Garfunkle.
- Booker T. & The MG's were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in
1992.
- Lewis Steinberg was the bassist for only a very short time before Duck Dunn
took over the bottom end.
